Balanced training methodology that builds strong bonds between you and your dog
Every dog is unique, and our training approach reflects that. Using a balanced training methodology, we help you build a strong, trusting relationship with your dog while teaching essential skills and addressing behavioral challenges. Whether you have a new puppy or an older dog with behavioral issues, we have the experience and patience to help.
Chris started training dogs before he was ten with the family cocker spaniels. By sixteen, he was training bird dogs for upland hunting and waterfowl. He's always been the one in the family that everyone went to for advice about dogs.
In 1999, Chris started working at a boarding facility that didn't turn away dogs with behavioral issues. By 2020, he was working full-time with dogs exhibiting reactivity, aggression, or other behavioral challenges.
Chris also trains, competes, and decoys in the dog sport French Ring, working closely with fellow club members to achieve success for himself and his team.
He believes in a balanced approach: dogs, much like people, need to know when they're doing well and when they need to rein it in. By first using positive reinforcement to develop and build appropriate behaviors, we create a dog that has drive for training and listens to what you want. Once the dog understands what's expected, we can increase success through negative reinforcement — creating an always with the behavior. Chris believes that if the owner, handler, or trainer doesn't understand the why, they can't truly reach the how.

Supporting your dog's training with proper nutrition and quality equipment
Nutrition plays a vital role in a dog's behavior. Dogs don't need carbs, and excess carbs often lead to inflammation, diabetes, obesity, and other issues that cause dogs discomfort and ADD-like symptoms. A proper diet can significantly improve your dog's focus, energy levels, and overall behavior during training.
